Lisa Bari is the Interim Chief Executive Officer at the Strategic Health Information Exchange Collaborative and a member of the board of HealthCare Access Maryland. She previously served as the lead of health information technology and interoperability at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Innovation Center. She has a B.A. from UC Berkeley, an MBA from Purdue University, and an MPH from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Sohini Chowdhury joined The Michael J. Fox Foundation in 2005. As Deputy CEO, Ms. Chowdhury oversees the Research Partnerships team and works closely with the Foundation’s executive leadership and Board of Directors in building the organization’s capacity as an unprecedented stakeholder in drug development. In her previous capacity as SVP, Research Partnerships at the Foundation, Ms. Chowdhury built ongoing relationships with pharmaceutical firms and biotech companies as research partners and as sponsors of the Foundation’s scientific and educational programs. She has led development of programs critical to increasing patient engagement in Parkinson’s research including the Fox Trial Finder smart-match tool and Fox Insight. Ms. Chowdhury also oversees the Parkinson’s Progression Markers Initiative, a landmark clinical study launched by MJFF in 2010 to identify and validate Parkinson’s biomarkers. Prior to joining MJFF, Ms. Chowdhury worked for five years as the Senior Community Manager of the World Economic Forum’s Technology Pioneers program.

James Craver is assistant director of the Office of Analysis and Epidemiology at the National Center for Health Statistics within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Mr. Craver oversees a portfolio of data dissemination activities to facilitate use of NCHS and other HHS data systems by a broad array of researchers, developers, policymakers, and other health and healthcare decision makers. He is a co-project officer for the Health Indicators Warehouse, a web-based system providing access to high quality data associated with over 1,200 population health indicators. He is also the project officer for Health Data Interactive, an interactive web-based application providing access to customizable population health data tables.

Gwen Darien is a longtime patient advocate who has played leadership roles in some of the country’s preeminent nonprofit organizations. As NPAF’s executive vice president for patient advocacy, Ms. Darien leads programs that link PAF’s patient service programs to NPAF initiatives, with the goal of improving access to affordable, quality health care. As a two-time cancer survivor herself, Ms. Darien came into cancer advocacy expressly to change the experiences and outcomes for the patients who came after her and to change the public dialogue about cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. With these goals in mind, in 2005 she started the first stand-alone advocacy entity in a professional cancer research organization at the American Association for Cancer Research. Later, she served as the executive director of the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation; director of The Pathways Project; and executive vice president of programs and services at the Cancer Support Community. In each role, Ms. Darien championed placing patients at the center of health system change, whether it be for research, public policy or direct services.

Stephanie Devaney, PhD is the deputy director of the All of Us Research Program. Prior to this she led the coordination of the Precision Medicine Initiative (PMI) from the Office of the Chief of Staff at the White House. In this role she coordinated the many components of the Initiative and guided the vision of the overall effort, along with the many federal partners. Before joining the White House, Dr. Devaney worked in the Office of the Director at the NIH. There she helped advance policies critical to biomedical research and the NIH mission and assisted in the development of programs and research initiatives to advance national scientific priorities, including the PMI. Prior to that, Dr. Devaney was a researcher at the Genetics and Public Policy Center at Johns Hopkins University. There she conducted research on pharmacogenetics and drug labeling; performed a meta-analysis of non-invasive fetal gender genetic testing; and was involved in public engagement surrounding the many ethical and social issues that are emerging with novel genomic technologies.

Natalie Evans-Harris has dedicated nearly 20 years to advancing the public sector’s responsible use of data for protecting and improving individuals’’s lives. Following a 15- year career at the National Security Agency, Ms. Evans-Harris co-founded and became COO of BrightHive, a collaborative data platform delivering a suite of smart data collection, integration, and governance products to social services providers for improved access to and usability of social sector data. She founded the Community-driven Principles for Ethical Data Sharing (CPEDS) community of practice with over 800 active members focused on strengthening ethical practices in the data science community through crowd-sourcing of a Data Science Code of Ethics. As a Senior Policy Advisor to the U.S. Chief Technology Officer in the Obama Administration, Ms. Evans-Harris founded The Data Cabinet – a federal data science community of practice with over 200 active members across more than 40 federal agencies.

Jason Gerson, PhD is Senior Program Officer for the Clinical Effectiveness and Decision Science program at the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). He also leads some of PCORI’s open science initiatives, including the development of a data sharing policy. Before joining PCORI, Dr. Gerson was a senior officer at The Pew Charitable Trusts, where he led research activities on a number of drug safety and innovation issues. Before that, he was a Commissioner’s Fellow at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), working in the Office of Pediatric Therapeutics on regulatory science, policy, and ethical issues related to pediatric medical product development. Prior to joining the FDA, Dr. Gerson was a faculty member in the Department of Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Earlier in his career, Dr. Gerson worked in the New York City Mayor’s Office of Health Policy and the New York City Administration for Children’s Services.

Joel Gurin is the President and Founder of CODE and an internationally recognized expert on open data. His book Open Data Now (McGraw-Hill), written for a general audience, is considered a benchmark publication that helped define this emerging field. Before launching CODE in January 2015 he conceptualized and led the development team for the GovLab’s Open Data 500 project, the first thorough study of the use of open government data by the private sector. Mr. Gurin’s background includes government, journalism, nonprofit leadership, and consumer issues. He served as Chair of the White House Task Force on Smart Disclosure, which studied how open government data can improve consumer markets, and as Chief of the Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau of the U.S. Federal Communications Commission. Prior to his work in government he served for more than a decade as the Editorial Director and then Executive Vice President of Consumers Union, publisher of Consumer Reports.

William Hoffman heads the World Economic Forum’s initiatives on Data-Driven Development and the Global Agenda of the Information and Communications Technology sector. Comprised of a multi-stakeholder community of industry, civil society, governmental and academic leaders, this group works to collectively identify where ICT can positively impact some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Based on the assumption that a hyperconnected world requires strengthened trust and new models of collaboration, Mr. Hoffman’s focus at the Forum addresses the need for principle-based governance, demand-based innovation and the need for a balanced, inclusive and sustainable ICT ecosystem. In particular, he leads a multi-year initiative on personal data aimed at advancing the dialogue on the value of personal data and the need for enabling frameworks which are flexible, centered on the individual, and contextually driven. Prior to joining the World Economic Forum, Mr. Hoffman was the Director of Enterprise Marketing at AT&T.

Charles Keckler, JD is a Presidential Scholar at the Schar School of Policy & Government, George Mason University. Since 2010, Mr. Keckler has served on the Board of Directors of the Legal Services Corporation where he chairs the Committee on Operations and Regulations, which provides oversight of the national system of civil legal aid for those in poverty. Prior to that appointment, he was Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy for HHS under President George W. Bush. Mr. Keckler has taught evidence, analytical methods, and comparative law at George Mason, Northwestern, Washington & Lee, and Penn State Universities. Mr. Keckler has practiced trial and appellate litigation in Chicago with Mayer Brown, and has contributed professional articles to Perspectives in Political Science and several law reviews.

Lisa Khorey is the Executive Vice President, Chief Client Delivery Officer for Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, a publicly traded company that provides electronic health record technology and other health information technology to over 180,000 physicians, 2,700 hospitals and 13,000 extended care organizations. Ms. Khorey leads all aspects of delivering Allscripts solutions to its clients, including professional services, managed services, support and hosting. Prior to joining Allscripts, Ms. Khorey was an Executive Director in Ernst & Young’s Healthcare Advisory Services Practice, specializing in analytics. Serving EY’s largest clients across the US and Australia, she led teams to deliver client business transformation projects, manage benefits realization and provide analytics as a service. Ms. Khorey spent 20 years in a variety of technology leadership roles at UPMC, one of the largest integrated delivery and financing organizations in the US. Ms. Khorey spearheaded and led UPMC’s Enterprise Analytics Program, and was responsible for oversight of enterprise systems, including data aggregation platforms, business intelligence tools and master data management.

Sanjay Koyani is the Executive Director at the HHS Chief Technology Office and the Executive Lead of the ReImagine HHS Data Insights Initiative where he works to manage the power of data, technology, and innovation to improve the health and welfare of the nation and manage HHS’ first enterprise-wide data sharing strategy. In addition to his work at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Sanjay has worked at the Food and Drug Administration and the National Cancer Institute. He has a BA from Purdue University and an MPH from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Rachel Melo is a communications lead at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). From 2019-2020 she led communications in the HHS Office of the Chief Technology Officer and currently works on communications in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health for the LymeX and Health+ Sickle Cell Disease projects. Prior to working at HHS she was a project manager at AARP. Before that, she was a program associate at Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). She holds a master’s degree from the Johns Hopkins University in Communications.

Michael Seres, who passed away in 2020, was a valued member of the Advisory Committee and was instrumental in bringing the patient perspective to this project. He was the CEO and Founder of 11 Health and Technologies Limited and was diagnosed with the incurable bowel condition, Crohn’s Disease at the age of 12. After over 20 operations and an intestinal failure, Mr. Seres became the 11th person to undergo a small bowel transplant at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford, UK, which included becoming a stoma patient. In 2013, Mr. Seres founded the health tech start up 11 Health and developed sensor technology for ostomy patients. Mr. Seres started blogging about his journey through Bowel Transplant and his blog has over 100,000 followers. He used social media to develop global online peer to peer communities: covering over 20,000 patients. He was the patient lead for the main UK health twitter chat #NHSSM, a member of the NHS England Digital Services user council, a published author and a professional speaker. He was the inaugural e-patient in residence and an executive board member at Stanford Medicine X.

Mona Siddiqui, MD is the Chief Data Officer for the US Department of Health and Human Services where she is driving the strategy to connect the nation’s healthcare data. As she leads the effort to build and implement the first HHS enterprise wide data sharing platform and governance structure, she is also responsible for advancing the Department’s AI strategy. Prior to this role, Dr. Siddiqui was an Innovator-in-Residence at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation advancing rapid cycle testing for technology enabled care models. She has also led the health portfolio for the White House Social and Behavioral Sciences Team (“nudge” unit) during the previous administration. She has an MD from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, a masters in quantitative methods from the Harvard School of Public Health and a masters in management/engineering from the Stanford School of Engineering.

Paul Tarini focuses on exploration, discovery, learning, and emerging trends that are important to building a Culture of Health, as well as fostering connections between health and health care. Mr. Tarini joined the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in 1994 as a communications officer. In addition to staffing a number of program teams, he was executive editor for Advances, the Foundation’s weekly newsletter, and editor for a number of annual reports. He joined the program staff in 2009. Mr. Tarini came to the Foundation after serving as senior publication information officer in the American Medical Association’s Department of Science News, where he handled media inquiries and outreach related to the AMA’s scientific journals, including JAMA, and organized briefings for the media on various health and medical topics. He also covered business for American Medical News.

John Wilbanks is the Chief Commons Officer at Sage Bionetworks. Previously, Mr. Wilbanks worked as a legislative aide to Congressman Fortney “Pete” Stark, served as the first assistant director at Harvard’s Berkman Center for Internet & Society, founded and led to acquisition the bioinformatics company Incellico, Inc., and was executive director of the Science Commons project at Creative Commons. In February 2013, in response to a We the People petition that was spearheaded by Mr. Wilbanks and signed by 65,000 people, the U.S. government announced a plan to open up taxpayer-funded research data and make it available for free.
